Every year, education takes amongst the biggest allocation in national budget but complementary fund is still a necessary to support a quality education. The main objective of this article is to review the introduction of waqf as a complementary financial mechanism aimed at funding education at the polytechnic level in Malaysia. This study uses a content analysis approach as a study method through descriptive and inductive data analysis. Preliminary findings indicate the existence of constraints to realising the provisions in particular legal constraints. However, the opportunity to realise this funding desire is wide open through the involvement and role of the highest management of the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and the Department of Polytechnic Education and Community Colleges. The impact of this study can increase input and enrich information for interested parties to realise educational waqf savings for polytechnics. Meanwhile, stakeholders in education must mobilise all resources and efforts towards achieving the ideal of excellence, ensuring that the country's education remains at the best level as the world progresses.
