THE VALUE OF PARENTS' EXAMPLES IN THE FORMATION OF CHILDREN'S LOVE OF THE MASJID

The exemplary values of parents influence children's worship and morals. Good role models have a great impact on children's souls. Children are not able to understand the goodness that is being taught until they see their parents doing it. However, the reality today is that there are parents who do not set a good example for their children. Muhamad Zaki Zainuddin's study (2022) found that parents' worship practices have a significant relationship at a low level with students' worship practices (r = 0.374, p < 0.01). Therefore, this study aims to examine the value of parental role models in the formation of children's love for the mosque. The methodology for this study is a qualitative study. The form of this study is phenomenology. The sampling of the study was to 11 parents who were selected based on the justification that had been set. The analysis of this research data is thematic. The findings of this study show that the value of role models from mothers is very important in the formation of children's love for the mosque because parents are a reflection of children. When parents often attend congregations and visit mosques and suraus, children will indirectly follow what their parents do. In addition, the togetherness of mothers who often go to the mosque with their children can strengthen family relationships. This can form a Muslim family that is harmonious and blessed by Allah SWT.
